Maun Airport: The terminal is effectively in town: about 2.5 km south of the main roundabout and only a couple of blocks from the main shopping area. For central Maun, use a Route 1 combi or take a short taxi ride; walking is realistic only with light luggage and outside the heat. Route 1 continues north toward the camps. There is no need to pre-book an expensive private airport transfer for an in-town hotel; agree the taxi fare before getting in.
Maun Bus Rank: This is the useful overland arrival point, southwest of the main roundabout near the market on Tsaro Street. Buses from Gaborone take roughly 9–10 hours; Francistown services take about 6 hours. Tickets have traditionally been bought on board, so confirm current departure times locally rather than building a tight connection around an online timetable. From the rank, central lodges are walkable in cooler hours; use a taxi or combi for the airport and camps north of town.
